During the gubernatorial (governor's) primary elections of August 19, 2008, the most important election of Washington State, Christian Pierre Joubert and his "Fundamental Freedom's Action Plan" harvested nearly twice as many votes as the Greens and more than twice in relation to other minority and third parties. If we are to count the Republican Party and the G.O.P. as one movement, his Fundamental Freedom's Action Plan (which included foreign policy goals), as a platform, emerged as the third political force. This success is based on the People's thirst for the expansion of additional fundamental freedoms and their desire to believe in a political philosophy whose Plan of Action proposes a credible method by which to satisfy the five basic needs all Civilizations have struggled with: (a) good vibrant and unpolluted food and water catering to life and reproduction (b), a decent and re-energizing shelter structure, (c) affordable health care and conditions under which lifestyle medicine is prevalent (d), meaningful access to education, culture, art and spiritual practice,(e) and equal access to an efficient Justice system, including, but not limited to civil justice, thanks to which security and all of the other freedoms mentioned above can be vindicated when necessary. Chocolate starts with a tree called the cacao tree (Theobroma cacao). Cornell University food scientists found that cocoa powder has nearly twice the antioxidants of red wine and up to three times what is found in green tea. Their findings were published in an article entitled "Cocoa Has More Phenolic Phytochemicals and a Higher Antioxidant Capacity than Teas and Red Wine," found in the American Chemical Society's Journal of Agriculture and Food Chemistry, a peer-reviewed publication.

Phenylethylamine (PEA): PEA is a chemical in cacao that increases the activity of neurotransmitters (brain chemicals) in parts of the brain that control our ability to pay attention and stay alert. Elevated PEA levels occur when we are captivated by a good book, movie, or project; this happens specifically during those moments when we are so focused that we lose all track of time, food, and the outside world. PEA is noticeably abundant in the brains of happy people.

Anandamide (The Bliss Chemical): A neurotransmitter called anandamide (n-arachidonoylethanolamine), has been isolated in cacao in quantities significant enough to affect the brain. Anandamide is a cannabinoid naturally found in the human brain. Anandamide is a lipid (fat) known as "the bliss chemical" because it is released while we are feeling blissful.

These rare MAO inhibitors actually produce favorable results when consumed by allowing more serotonin and other neurotransmitters such as anandamide, dopamine, etc. to circulate in the brain. According to Dr. Gabriel Cousens, MAO inhibitors facilitate youthening and rejuvenation.

MAO inhibitors may make one younger as they allow more neurotransmitters to remain in the bloodstream. Candidate speaks out on raw vegan chocolate mousse issue

The online version of the state voters’ pamphlet was posted on the Secretary of State’s website today and you can find it here. But I got a sneak peak at the printed version and thought I’d direct you to a few highlights ahead of time.

First, you might check out Will Baker’s candidate statement. He’s the Reform Party’s candidate for governor. He floats a couple of conspiracies and then asks readers “to please call ‘60 Minutes’ at (212) 975-2006 and please press zero to speak to a live person.” Sounds like he’s done this before.

Democratic gubernatorial candidate Christian Pierre Joubert favors “the distribution of ‘superfoods’ (including but not limited to amazing dopamine-producing raw vegan chocolate mousses).” That sounds like a kitchen table issue. Do House Democrats know about this?

Republican Jim Wiest is running for Lieutenant Governor again and declares himself to be Dino Rossi’s running mate when he says “With Dino Rossi and myself back on the ballot again, we have a chance to correct the mistakes make since that November Election day four years ago.”

David Blomstrom wants to be your next state Superintendent of Public Instruction and in his candidate statement he declares “Viva Chavez! No, I haven’t lost my mind — just my profession (teaching) and students.” He later asks “So why do the media ignore and even lie about me?”

Don’t look at me. He’s getting ink here, isn’t he?

And because I got a copy of the Clark County version of the voters’ pamphlet it had Republican Rep. Jim Dunn’s candidate statement included. Near the end Dunn declared “Return control of Washington to our residents,” which in this context sounds a lot like “Vote for change by re-electing your state representative.”

A FEW OTHER HEALTH MAINTAINING POPULAR RAW VEGAN DISHES

89. There would also be the possibility to use the cacao bean as a unit of monetary exchange. This is relevant given that more and more economic analysts are predicting a big financial tsunami (crash). CLICK HERE TO VERIFY. Moreover, we have evidence that this monetary unit has worked in the past. The Mayan Civilization used the cacao bean as money for many years. CLICK HERE FOR THE EVIDENCE. Therefore, we could first limit the use of cacao beans as money to sustainable intentional eco villages.   We would of course need to control the production and the importation of cacao beans. But this would be easy since cacao trees don't grow in the US, let alone in Washington State. There would nonetheless have to be a law prohibiting cacao beans smuggling and cacao tree growing in one's apartment. Counterfeiting via cacao beans would need to be a crime, without which the system would not be operational. If this project were to be crowned with success, then we could generalize it to an entire county (to be proposed by referendum as a civic experiment), provided the county's People would agree. And for those who did not, they would have the option to use other currencies (dollars, gold, silver). And then, we could extend this monetary unit to the entire State.  The benefit of this new monetary money would be that it would protect us form a failing dollar, one  which could become as devalued and value-less as it became in the 1930s when our leaders also over-spent and over-speculated irresponsibly. Then, during the worse moments of the "Great Crash" an entire suitcase of dollars barely bought a family of four enough to eat for one week. If that happened, most of us couldn’t even repay our mortgages, let alone buy a year's supply of cacao. There are many advantates to using this monetary unit. (a). Using cacao beans in conjunction to the opening up of the money market to other currencies (beginning with silver, gold, side by side with the dollar), would also be a way to help the underdeveloped world to get out of the poverty vicious circle we the West pushed them into in the first place. (b). Secondly, by using cacao beans as money, not only would we help the cacao poor Nations to develop, but we would reduce carbon emissions, immigration and economic havoc. This too is clearly in our interest.. (c). Third, as a bonus, we would have therapeutic food for money. In other words, thanks to its medicinal and nutritional virtues, it would never become value-less, contrarily to paper money made from toxic dyes and chemicals. During times of catastrophes, this flexibility could be handy. For example,  if there were a famine resulting from any catastrophe, natural or man made, we could then at least eat this money and feel good about it, thanks to its serotonin, phenylethylamine producing elements and dopamine producing neuro-transmitters, depression would be alleviated. And because of its "bliss" producing anandamide, we would surmount the catastrophe with greater resiliency. (d). This monetary unit is also durable, like gold and silver, once dried, it can last for hundreds of years and is easier to circulate than gold or silver which tend to be heavier in weight. However, the central question is the State's authority to create money. Before the US Constitution, there were no legal obstacles for a State to establish its own money. Many of the original 13 colonies had their own monetary unit. But then came the US Constitution, formed first and foremost to strengthen the colonies against foreign invasion. In the US Congress, it was clear that the Congress, meaning the People, had the authority to create and regulate money. But then came one of the most unconstitutional mistakes the Executive of the time made. The  transfer of monetary authority from the US Congress to the Federal Reserve Banks in 1913. The Federal Constitution never authorized such a devolution of power. Since, the Federal Reserve system and its bankers and allies, has endebted us to over 9 trillion dollars - using this money self-servingly. Now, not only are we slaves to excessive taxation (we work roughly one third to pay taxes) but if the Asians wanted, they could precipitate the big finance crisis asking for their money back. Or requesting bigger interest rates. Then Wall Street would go nuts. Thus, in the face of this unconstitutionality, we would need to better think how our State sovereignty and very survival could be better protected. Among other arguments, we would need to invoke Amendment Ten. "The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the states, are reserved to the states respectively, or to the people". Because the US Executive In 1913 violated the US Treasury's and Congress's authority on the producton and regulation of money by transfering it to an executive Agency, (Cf Article 1, section 8 of the US Constitution, CLICK HERE FOR A REVIEW OF THIS DOCUMENT), it follows that the US's Federal Reserve System fringes illegitimacy. Meanwhile, since Congress and the US Treasury have been stripped from this role, the issue of monetary production and regulation may have to be a People and a State issue. It would be necessary for Olympia's Supreme Court to confirm this conclusion. But meanwhile, we have enough evidence to at least present to the People this cacao bean enlightened self-sovereignty project. If only to mitigate the huge financial crises that many economic analysts are predicting. Be that as it may, we first need to better study this question via a Task Force i would, as Governor, if elected, put in place via another executive order. And then we could experiment its success with a few sustainable communities. In the Attica eco-village of New York for example, the new monetary unit created there works so well that much of the entire community of Attica has been using this new currency, even to pay for services. If the monetary cacao system worked here, we could then experiment it on an entire county (after refendum) And if that worked, we could extend this unit to the entire 39 counties of the State. And then propose this solution to our other 49 sister States. Out of solidarity and Humanity. Since no one wants to suffer as much as most Americans did in the 1930s. In addition, this initiative would also send a strong message to Washington D.C. to get its "Finance" House in order. If it still wants to be part of our Union. If not, we can always find other legitimate sources of monetary sovereignties. However, there is a problem if i got elected and the the People approved my proposed executive order "cacao currency enlightened self-sovereignty operation" . Last time a political leader signed such an executive order on currency creation, a few months thereafter, he got shot twice, in the front and in the back". AS FOR MULTIPLE OF DOZENS OF OTHER SUPERFOODS.

PENDING MORE TIME, HEREINAFTER A FEW. WE WILL START WITH SPICES AND WORK OUR WAY UP THE FOOD CHAIN TO TREE FRUITS.

 

Spices can add much more than flavor, color and variety to your favorite foods; many also have unique health-promoting properties. So if salt and pepper are the only spices in your kitchen, you're missing out on a host of interesting flavors and some potentially potent health benefits.


Ginger

Health Benefits: The active ingredient in ginger is gingerol, a compound that's thought to relax blood vessels, stimulate blood flow and relieve pain. It's commonly used as a digestive aid and contains compounds that ease motion sickness and nausea and inhibit vomiting. This makes it a helpful spice for morning sickness or for people suffering from the side effects of chemotherapy.

Ginger is also an anti-inflammatory, which means it may be useful in fighting heart disease, cancer, Alzheimer's disease and arthritis. Plus, it's high in antioxidants that fight all kinds of diseases.
How it's Used: Ginger can be used freshly ground from the root (see picture) in Asian dishes, as well as in any type of meat, seafood or vegetable dish. Ginger is commonly served along with sushi. Dried ground ginger is typically used in desserts and baking (gingerbread cookies, etc.), and it's also available candied and pickled. Fresh ginger root can also be used to make a soothing ginger tea.

Oregano

Health Benefits: Two of oregano's compounds, thymol and carvacrol, have potent antibacterial properties. In fact, a study in Mexico found that oregano was more effective against an amoeba than a common prescription drug called tinidazol.

Oregano is also a potent antioxidant, rich in phytonutrients. On a per gram basis, fresh oregano has:

• 42 times more antioxidant activity than apples
• 30 times more than potatoes
• 12 times more than oranges
• 4 times more than blueberries

How it's Used: Fresh or dried oregano can be added to Italian dishes, salad dressings, egg dishes, vegetables, meats and more.

Interesting Tidbit: Oregano means "mountain joy" and is sometimes called wild marjoram in Europe. It's closely related to the herb sweet marjoram.

Cinnamon

Health Benefits: Cinnamon is an anti-microbial food that can stop the growth of bacteria, fungi and yeast. A study in the August 2003 International Journal of Food Microbiology also found that a few drops of cinnamon essential oil added to carrot broth was able to effectively preserve the food and fight pathogenic organisms--all while improving the flavor of the broth.

It also has anti-clotting and anti-inflammatory properties, which help prevent unwanted clumping of blood platelets. And, it may help boost brain function.

People with diabetes should also take note that cinnamon is a useful tool to help control blood sugar. A study in the December 2003 Diabetes Care found that eating one to six grams of cinnamon daily significantly reduced blood sugar levels in people with type 2 diabetes. Meanwhile, it also reduced their triglyceride levels, LDL (bad) cholesterol and total cholesterol levels.

Plus, a study in the February 2004 Hormone Metabolism Research found that this tasty spice appears to prevent insulin resistance even in animals eating a high-fructose diet.

And that's not all. Cinnamon is a powerful antioxidant. A study in the Journal of Nutrition found that out of all spices, cinnamon is one of the richest sources of disease-fighting antioxidants.

How it's Used: Cinnamon comes ground and in sticks, and can be used in Mexican, Middle Eastern and other ethnic dishes, curries, vegetables, tea, beverages, and of course, desserts.

Interesting Tidbit: In traditional Chinese medicine, cinnamon is used in a tea along with ginger to fight the onset of colds and flu.

Turmeric

Health Benefits: Curcumin, which gives turmeric its bright yellow color, is thought to be the active ingredient in this spice. It's a potent anti-inflammatory that studies have found is just as effective as drugs like hydrocortisone, phenylbutazone and Motrin. This spice has been found to be helpful in fighting inflammatory bowel diseases, including Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis, rheumatoid arthritis, cystic fibrosis, cancer and Alzheimer's disease. It's also shown promise in offering cardiovascular and liver protection.

How it's Used: Turmeric powder can be added to rice dishes, egg salad, salad dressings, curries, beans and sauces. It has a warm, peppery flavor similar to ginger and orange.


Interesting Tidbit: Turmeric is the spice commonly used in curries that gives them their yellow color. It's also what makes traditional mustard yellow!


Sage


Health Benefits: Sage is an anti-inflammatory and antioxidant. It contains flavonoids, phenolic acids and oxygen-handling enzymes, all of which give it a unique ability to prevent oxygen-based damage to cells. Sage may be useful in fighting rheumatoid arthritis and other inflammatory conditions, bronchial asthma and atherosclerosis.


Sage also appears to promote better brain function. A study in the June 2003 Pharmacological Biochemical Behavior found that people given sage essential oil extracts had significantly improved recall abilities compared to those given a placebo.


How it's Used: Sage's subtle, sweet flavor makes it a very versatile herb. It can be added to soups, sauces, salad dressings, meat dishes, casseroles, vegetables, eggs, salads and more.


Interesting Tidbit: Sage means "to be saved." Because sage is so effective in protecting oxygen-based damage, several companies have been conducting experiments using sage as a natural additive to cooking oils to extend shelf life and prevent the oils from going rancid.


Red Chili Peppers


Health Benefits: These peppers, which include the popular cayenne pepper, contain capsaicin, an anti-inflammatory compound that helps with pain relief. Chili peppers have been found to help:


• Clear congestion by clearing mucus from the lungs and nose
• Boost immunity
• Prevent stomach ulcers by killing bacteria
• Help with weight loss
• Reduce blood cholesterol, triglyceride levels and platelet aggregation
• Prevent cancers, including stomach cancer
• Relieve pain


How it's Used: Chili peppers are, of course, great in Mexican dishes, but that's not all. Try them with other vegetables, tuna salad, chili, corn bread, dips, curries, soups, sauces and more.


Interesting Tidbit: The hotter the pepper, the more capsaicin it contains. Some of the hottest chili peppers out there are the habañero, Scotch bonnet, and jalapeño peppers.


Parsley


Health Benefits: Chief among parsley's beneficial properties is its ability to fight cancer. Animal studies have shown that it can inhibit tumor formation, particularly in the lungs. It's also known to neutralize carcinogens including those found in cigarette smoke and charcoal grill smoke.


Parsley is also a rich source of antioxidants and heart-protective nutrients including vitamin C, beta-carotene and folic acid.


How it's Used: Parsley comes in two popular varieties, curly and flat leaf. Fresh parsley is more flavorful than the dried variety. The curly version tends to have a more intense flavor than the flat-leaf variety. Use it in soups, salads and casseroles, or to top fish, meat, potatoes, vegetables and more. Interesting Tidbit: Parsley is a great breath freshener at the end of a meal.
